I am requested by The Honourable Dr. Ho Kai, Chairman

of "The Society for the Suppression of Promiscuous Spitting in

Public Placea", to send you herewith a short account of the business transacted at the second meeting of the said Society

held at the Chinese Commercial Union on the 24th instant.

At the meeting the Rules and Regulations of the said

Society, a draft copy of which was sent to you by the Honourable

Dr. Ho Kai and Mr. Wei Yuk on the 16th instant were, with a few

minor alterations, passed and adopted.

The members of the General Committee were increased to

the number of 51 and 10 of which were appointed to form an

Executive Committee, The Society has now 104 members, 24 new

ones have joined since the list was forwarded to you.

To carry out the object of the Society the meeting has resolved to adopt the following measures; namely:--

1. To widely circulate hand bille making known and calling

the people to co-operate in furthering the object of the said

Society.

2. To engage lecturers to give lectures in public places

and for this purpose,

(a) to approach the Registrar General for the help and

assistance of the lecturers of the Public Dispensaries,

(b) to request the District watchmen Committee to

instruct their District watchmen to dissuade the people from

the spitting habit when they saw a nuisance is being committed
